Default "Check Stop Lamp" but lamps all light!

Hi guys!

You've been a great resource for me before, and hopefully this is a quickie.

My 2002 Cross Country keeps telling me to Check Stop Lamp when I apply the brakes, but according to two different mechanics (in for other service) all the bulbs are lighting just fine. (They didn't do any investigation beyond looking to see if they were coming on—that's all I asked them to do.)

Is this something you've maybe seen before? It's nothing I'm terribly concerned about since they ARE lighting, but it's...mildly annoying. I did have a bulb (right front turn signal) replaced before this started happening, dunno if that could have any relevance.

Cheers!

Damn, no responses? I can't have stumped the community...more likely no one has seen the post. Because I KNOW someone knows what's up...

I had same problem with my 2002 XC70. I ended up changing out the Relay in the left rear panel in the trunk. It is a Double Relay and I replaced with 2 new single Relays, and then the message went away.
Regards, Paul

Weird. I had a feeling it was something about a relay. That'll get prioritized behind the ball joint, though.

Thanks!
