I'm trying to decide between two XC70s and can't make a decision for the life of me. Since I learned a lot from reading this forum I thought I should put the question to you. Which would you choose?

Option 1
2010 XC70 3.2
83,563 miles
Oyster Gray with Anthracite black interior

Option 2
2008 XC70 3.2
81,589 miles
Black with Anthracite black interior

Both have pretty good service records/carfax report. Would you go newer with the 2010? My problem is I think I like it in Black better. Help me make a final decision!

 

What's about the price? Since both car almost the same except the year and ext color 08 must be lower price, slightly lower mileage, and of course black on black is better than grey.

 

 

I would first pick-up a copy of Consumer reports April Auto issue to determine the reliability of each year and what items people have reported as troublesome.
Are the vehicles from dealers or private sale? I would go with a dealer.

 

I don't think there were any substantial revisions between the two years so what it will come down to is a) maintenance history b) features and c) cost.

If you are concerned that the 2008 will be less reliable than the 2010 then you should invest in having a proper inspection done by a trusted mechanic.
