I just got it today and the check engine light is on. I noticed it as soon as i pulled in the driveway. before that, i notices a screeching ish sound i think is coming from one of the tires. also, i was told that there was a warning on the dashboard because one of the bulbs is not factory bulb or something. Could anyone give me ideas on what those issues could really be?

 

check engine light can be any number of things. You need to give a bit more information.. Does the vehicle run right? things of that nature.
If it sounds like its coming from the wheel area its probably rotor backing plate or maybe the brakes themselves.
and if you get a bulb message then either one of the headlights is out or one of the rear position lights are out.
