I have a 1997 850 that my dad gave me. He's had like 4, all used. And he can't figure out the problem. I've had the problem like 5 or 6 times over 6 months. What's curious is that it's always at the same place.

I have a relatively short commute to work though a very curvy country road. The area in question is after a straight down slope with a sharp turn at which point I'm usually going pretty slow followed by another even sharper turn. After that there's a hill, but the problem usually starts right before the hill.

I press the gas but I can feel something's not right. It's not giving me juice. It just makes a sound that sounds a little off. Before I have continued to press the gas. That didn't work. Now I try to wait a little bit before accelerating, but that doesn't really work either. I end up getting stuck in the same place unable to start the car.

When I come back in the evening however, 6 to 8 hours later it always starts up. It has only ever done this on the morning commute. Never the evening one.

has anyone else experienced a similar issue? We switched out the fuel pump relay, but with used ones.
