Default 850 turbo

I just purchased a '95 850 turbo sedan. It has 99xxx miles and the engine runs great. It has a major problem that started once I drove it home. When I put it into reverse, it makes a very harsh engagement and an audible clunk that seems like something in the transmission is going bad. All the engine mounts are good. The transmission shifts smoothly and only makes the audible clunk when I put it into reverse. There seems to also be a transmission fluid leak also. I gave it a THOUROUGH inspection by getting underneath and I noticed a pretty bad oil leak. It does not seem to be coming from the turbo drain line, but possibly the rear of the oil pan seal, which seems odd because everywhere else around the pan is bone dry. Im wondering if this is typical for that seal to be leaking and are the 850 turbo transmissions known for going bad. At this point I am afraid that I have made a bad purchase. Worst case scenario, are these transmissions rebuildable, or what would be my best option if the trans. is bad?

Man, I wish I had a dollar for all the people that wrote "when I got home, on the way home, when I stoped on the way home from the purchase". Dang, will someone please write a "how to test drive" thread.
