Default 91 740 caliper issue

Hi folks, My problem is just this. I got new calipers (front) and pads and when I try to put the pads in the caliper and the bracket the pads dont fit between the new 'slides'. The pads are correct and calipers also but the pads just wont fit in and even the old pads wont fit back into the old calipers (they seem 1/32 too big...Any help appreciated.

for the record I got it fixed by taking the caliper bracket off as well and grinding the spot where the break pad 'clips' or point of contact is made down as rust and or break pad dust had built up and caused the old pads to stop being able to slide freely when the pistons released causing heavily uneven wear. Also for some reason the piston or 'bolt' where the calipers actually bolt into (with rubber sleeve/bushing) on both sides one of each was frozen solid so the caliper bracket couldnt slide freely either. Both 'slides' still had grease but 2 of 4 were frozen solid on the caliper side! Problem solved nonetheless NOW it's time to work on figuring out why the overdrive keeps coming on or off randomly and why even pulling the fuse doesn't do anything other than eliminating backup signals and rear wipers! Onward and upward tho!
