Have just bought a 98 S70 (with no key fobs). When you lock the doors from the driver's position, or with the key, ALL the doors lock except the front passenger door. When you unlock the doors, the only one that unlocks is the driver's door. I have changed out the mechanism in the front passenger door 3 times (in case I had bought defective units)...but no change. Someone told me there is a module in the rear view mirror that has "gone to sleep", and the problem can only be fixed by buying the key fobs, taking it to a dealer, and letting them "rewake/reprogram" this module. Does that sound right?........or does someone know how to really fix it? Thanks!

 

Not on the 98 S70. They do not have a rear view mirror that controls the locks.

Check the plug in the door jam for the door wiring.You might want to unplug it and clean the connections.

 

Have a 1998 S70 . The key will not unlock the drivers door but works in the ignition. Can only get into the car with the fob. What needs to be done?

 

The lock assembly might be bad. Or if it has been replaced lately someone might have missed getting the rod back in.

 

OK...would this be a plug in the door that will not lock at all, or in a "master plug" location somewhere, since none of the doors but the driver's door will unlock.
