I have a 1998 S70 and the front passenger door locks like the lock goes down and everything but yet you can still open the door and the alarm goes off. Could the lock mechanisim be broken or did something just slip off inside the door panel because the door looks like its locked but it actually isnt. another thing is the E brake doesnt work, when you pull it up the E-brake light goes on but it does nothing the car keeps moving. If anybody could help me out with those two problems i would appreiate it thanx

Door latch assembly is bad and needs to be replaced.

I have the door panel off my 200S 70 ( passenger front) The two Toex 27 screws are out of the latch assembly but I cannot extract it. It's loose, but something other than the wiring is holding it?

Should be another screw under a cover on door frame, near the door latch. It is like a little black cover.

 

You need to sneak it out around the rear window track.
