Default door locks 1998 S70

Complex problem or not?

Passenger side front door does not open from inside, will open from outside.

Using remote, one press unlocks driver door, 2 presses unlocks passenger (front) pin pops up. Back doors will not unlock. Trunk lock operates normally.

Rear doors must be unlocked manually and all locks will lock with remote. All buttons go down but passenger front door can still be opened from outside does not lock even when button pushed down manually.

I can hear noise (actuators?) in all doors while trying to operate.

Is all related to inside door handle inoperative? Can it be a big deal to fix?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have 2 problems.
1. 3 bad door locks.
2. The Cable for the inner door handle either slid out or the plastic broke and the cable slid out.

Thanks for the reply, it is hard to describe all....

If the door lock bottons are unlocked manually, they will all lock with the remote (buttons go down)

Back doors will not unlock with remote, passenger front door button goes up and down with remote but does not lock. Same door will not open from inside.

I hear actuators in all positions working and all door lock buttons pysically move up and front ones go down. I'm hoping this indicates that the actuators are good and it's all related to something being disconnected or broken inside the right front door.

I guess I need to get inside the door and break some more stuff to find out. [X(]

OK, thanks.

Any idea of the cost of replacement parts?

I just made a deal to sell the car and I promised the buyer I would help with this problem, along with the ABS controller, baro sensor and antenna mast, not to mention the strut mount.

This is the most pressing as he has small kids to get in and out of the back seat and this presents somewhat of a safety problem.

I just find it hard to believe that 3 of the things are bad all at once, especially since they all move, but I appreciate and respect your expertise, and will approach it from that point.

Thanks again.

Those things are wacky like that.

Some days they wil work and others it won't.

The are pretty expensive I think (Don't quote me on it) like $160.00 each.

Very Poor design. What happens is they get Lubbed when the oil changes are done. The Lube is what Kills the door locks.
