Advice for headlight upgrade or driving lights
Hello,
Was hoping to get a little advice on an issue I am having with the headlights on my 1988 740GLE wagon.
The issue is that the headlights are just terrible. Even the high beams do not do a whole lot. I find myself very often, traveling well below the speed limit at night, because it seems like I can not see very far ahead of me, to feel comfortable. Lots of critters on these roads, and trying my best to take the offense with the deer.
What could one do to enhance the lighting for my car? I see retrofits, where a headlight piece with an H4 bulb replaces the stock sealed headlight. Is this good, or is there something better?
The other thing I was considering, was adding a couple of compact LED driving lights to the bumper. I do not currently have fog lights installed in the air dam under the bumper.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Scott

Im not sure about the headlights on volvos, but i know i had poor visibilty in a Mitsubishi Eclipse turbo i use to own and i wet sanded then polished the headlights. No pun intended but the change was like night and day. Might want to try that, or i have seen you could buy new headlight lenses or the headlights, but i only saw those for the newer v70s, im not sure what it would take to replace them, but might want to look into that maybe?
