Hey Guys, upon asking my new mechanic about rough idle, he pointed out my intake manifold gasket is soon going to blow. It is bulging. How long can I continue to drive it in this condition? Also, coming up on Timing Belt interval, any danger of going over schedule? Thanks for the pointed advice as usual, Rooster

 

Timing belt intervals are like russian roulette, some cars go over them by 50% and are fine, some go 1% past schedule. Do you want to gamble with $1500 for a head recondition?
Manifold gasket, on which engine?

I have the B230 T engine and just learned it is a non interference model. I bet the bulging gasket has been there sometime due to the rough idle. I will check the pcv valve and vacuum lines to carbon canister. Thx, Colin
