Default A/C Problem

Hey Everyone!

I have been reading these forums for the past few months and i have found them to bevery helpful. I now have a question of my own. I have a problem withthe A/C on my 2004 S60 2.5

Forgive me for being a automotive illiterate.

The A/C Clutch will never engage...unless we jump the fuse...so I know the A/C is charged and will work.

We checked all the fuses and found them to be in order.

The button on the dashworks but it doesnt engage the A/C.

It would seem to me (in my limited knowledge )that there is no correlation between the button and the fuse...something just isnt connecting correctly.

If anyone could give me ANY clue on what might be the problem...It would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Any again I am sorry I cant explain it a little better. Some of us are just not made tech savie.

Welcome aboard.

The compressor will kick in if you jump it, whether or not the system is fully charged. The AC buttonis designed tonot engage the AC if the charge is low.

Go to an independent AC shop, not a Volvo dealer, and have them check the charge.

Thanks! I will do that!

Was I mistaking the Clutch for the Compressor?

What is the difference?

The reason I thought it was the Clutch is that is what the fuse box link said.
