My 1996 850 N/A 2.4 just blew a head gasket, milky oil, it's shot. I happen to have a wrecked 2006 volvo s60 5cylN/A vvt. I can use literally all the parts from the s80 except the front bumper and headlights. Is it possible to do this engine swap? If it is possible what parts do I need?

 

If you swap the VVT engine in, the first area of difference is you'd need to use its wiring harness and ECU - otherwise the VVT wouldn't work. You'd also need to swap in the fuel delivery system and injectors etc all the way back to the pump as the s60 uses a computer controlled fuel pump via a fuel pressure sensor where the 850 uses a fuel pressure regulator. So its probably easier to replace the head gasket from the original engine.
