Default Headlight Lens

I had a rock go through my right front headlight lens. I was able to get a new lens (not the whole assembly), but it not come with instructions. I can kind of figure out that in involves taking off the old clips, but I am trying to find instructions for attaching the new gasket to the new lense and the best way to get the new clips on without having to pull off the whole headlight unit. Any help???

Thanks!!!

It will be easiest to remove the headlight.
The gasket slides into the grove in the headlight assembly.

Since I assume you have a S70 by the screen name it is easy to remove the headlight.

I do indeed have an S70. What are the basics for removing the headlight assembly. It's a 1999 by the way.

Remove the side light. There is a tab that releases the side light. Becareful doing it. Sometimes they will break. Look from the top you should see the tab. You will have to push it down and slide the light foward.

Then there is 4 10MM nuts holding the light in the car. remove the nuts and the light will come out.

There are actually 3 10mm bolts on each side holding the assemblies in place.

Thanks to all! Install was a snap and a BIG savings versus having a new assembly bought and installed.

How about for a 2000 V40? Anyone replaced the headlight assemblies in this model? I'm changing bothout this weekend and could sure use some insight. What all needs to come off to get to them?

Thanks!

You need to loosen and slide the front bumper cover out some to get the Headlights out.
