Highway vibration
I would like to start by saying what a great resource this is. Great information combined with good organization. Thanks for all the recent help. That being said, I need some help. I drive a 95 850 non-turbo wagon. I recently put new lower control arms, new sway bar links, new axles, and new tires with alignment. My problem is that i am getting a vibration in the steering wheel on the highway. I do not have any trouble below 50- 55mph. Any suggestions?

RE: Highway vibration
Hi buzzforb,
Bent may show up on a dynamic balancer but the balancer may not report it as damage and a technician can install balance weight and the problem can get masked until the tyre wears a bit. Many people seem to lift the front/rear end of the car, turn the wheel while placing a piece of wood close to the tread surface to check for out-of-round. Visually inspect the wheels, and if you do not see large dent, it is probably ok but follow moderator Tech's advice.
Also, I would double check the hardware (nuts & bolts) for looseness, and check the ball joints & tie-rod ends to see if the rubber boots are torn. Lastly, check the tyre pressure, though this probably has nothing to do with the symptom.
I hope this gets you started.
