How Do I Open VADIS Software?

The diagnostic tool portion is worthless for an individual with VIDA. To use the diagnostic portion, you need a. a DICE diagnostic tool. There are Chinese knockoffs for a couple hundred on eBay. These work reasonably well for reading many codes, BUT they will not re-set codes WITHOUT internet subscription to Volvo's proprietary data base. A subscription is quite expensive. So, for most of us, VADIS and VIDA is merely an information source for parts and repairs. See my post #12

I have a 2005 s60 2.5T, should I get VADIS or VIDA?

VIDA. There is a supplemental disc for schematics and such that I do not believe is found in VADIS.

Just thought I'd pick the brains trust here. I've attempted to get vadis working on an old laptop (I run Mac OSX at home nowdays) and Im having trouble creating a new user. When I click the create user button I get a "Security error when creating user information. Log off and try again" Any ideas whats happening here?

I had no idea VADIS would even run on a Mac...

I dosent (well, not directly through mac osx anyway), my old laptop is windows XP Home- SP1

Did you download it as a bit torrent? That's how I did mine and I had to find and install a crack/patch to get it to run.

yep, torrent. The way the install instructions are written is like its already had the crack done...

Success!!!! My old laptop was Win XP SP1. I had a copy of Win XP Prof SP3 floating around so I done a clean install of XP and reloaded Vadis. Its now working, so Im happy

Sweet! Yeah, I think you have to have SP 2 for it to run.
