Hi everyone, as you may know i've had some issues with braking. IT's been a while that i find myself having to apply more and more pressure on the brake pedal to stop my car. I recently bleed the brakes and i know my volvo pads are still in good shape. I've had the car for about 2 years now...it now has 93000km on it. When i got it it seemed to have new rotors (or maybe resurfaced). Looking at them now, i do notice some small rust and pits in them...i find it more scary when i'm cruzing down the highway and apply brakes. I also a lot of stop and go driving going to and coming back from work every day.
Does it sound like i need to change my rotors? any advice? thanks

Unless the rotors are dished in or are warped there is seldom any reason to change 'em. The small imperfections you describe sound pretty normal; the sort of thing from sitting up a few days after rain getting on the disc. Increasing brake effort sounds more like a vacuum leak either in the manifold line or the booster itself.

 

Make sure the surface of the rotor is metal and not rust. Rust doesn't work as a friction material. Otherwise, thickness or warpage will determine when you toss 'em.

Sounds like a booster problem to me.
Check the vac line and one way valve on the booster.

 

You said you bled the brakes, I would recommand a full flush of the system with the best brake fluid you can find. I used Ate racing 4 dot fluid. I worked in hydralics for 25 yrears and flushing the system is something that is always overlooked.
If you flush the system pour the old fliud in a glass jar and let it sit for a few days. Then took a look at the to see how much stuff is in the jar, if it looks okay there may still be some other problem with your braking system.

Sounds like a booster problem to me as well. Maybe you need a new master cylinder.
