hi everyone, i'm whitney posting from washington state. i have a 1990 volvo 740 turbo wagon that just stopped working. my homie and i were driving along and it just turned off instantly and wouldn't start again. after replacing the fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor, i took the old girl in to a mechanic whose original diagnosis was that the fuel ECU was bad, but then stopped receiving any sort of signal from the computer... any tips on this situation would be greatly appreciated. i'm thinking about getting a used fuel ECU and putting it in myself, but i'm not sure if that is the real problem.

No way of really telling from here. If the t-belt is still on and the battery is good that may be it. Is it getting fuel? The fuel pump or relay could be bad.

 

May want to check the Coil...
