Default leaking water on passenger side

Aloha,
I have a 2002xc and my car is not leaking on the passenger side like a sive. It looks like the leak might be coming up high. I can feel water under the plastic on the dash on that side. I checked to see if water was flowing down the window where all the water goes and it is flowing right under the car. Not sure what the problem is but the other day I had 2 inches of water on the passenger side. I had left the car parked outside and it rained all evening. HELP!!!

There is no smell and not losing any water in radiator.

Default RE: leaking water on passenger side

Aloha,

Is your Volvo XC70 or is it 90?

If it has a moon/sun roof, most likely the leak is coming from there due to blocked drain holes. The drain holes are usually located at the 4 corners of the roof assembly. I would try pouring a cup of water to see if it drains immediately or if it stays long enough to create a puddle.

If you do not have moon roof, then the leak must be from a deteriorated/damaged weather strip.

I hope this helps. Please let us know your findings, if you would.
