So I drove to work this morning and everything was fine, but when I left to run an errand my check engine, ABS, and brake lights were all on. Throughout my run, shifting would get sticky and jerky. The entire dash speedometer and odometer and gauges would go out too. The car was telling me to drive safely because of a break failure? I think I noticed the parking break not working as well as it should, but I could be wrong.

I managed to stall out somehow and then the car didn't want to start. After a minute of cursing the heavens it started up and I drove back to work.

I'm hoping to get it into a shop on Monday, but last time I got the hose and hope to maybe get some insight into my issue from someone who knows better than I.

Hi Jeff. what kind car do you have?

 

It sounds to me like you have a fundamental problem, like a bad battery connection or earth and the whole car is shutting down.
