Thumbs down Mobile money pit

I drive a 2007 S80 V8 AWD. I'm about to hit the 90,000mile mark.

Yesterday I had my 16th new tire fitted - that's in addition to the original 4. All replacements have been because of blow-outs or bubbles in the tires. All of the tires have been top of the line Pirelli costing about $250 fitted.

I live just outside Philadelphia.

How many others have this sort of horrendous record?

Personally with an average life span of less than 20K per tire I would have ditched Pirelli a long time ago. I assume you are sure the alignment is correct? Other than alignment driving conditions are really the only other variable. Unless you can attribute your problems to something other than those specific tires try something else. Assuming you are going back to the same tire they should have recommended another tire long before now.

Wow, I agree with pkrface. Definitely time to pick a new tire! Michelin and Continental both make great tires.

In addition to alignment, proper inflation pressure is also critical.

That a lot of tire failures. I guess you are using a low profile tire and the streets in your area are less than smooth with lots of pot holes? Also, performance tires are good for performance, but not so for absorbing pot holes without bubbling out. I would try a mid-price Michelin touring tire with a less aggressive profile such as a 215/60R17 or a 215/55R18. Michelin are known for their smooth and usually silent drive.
