ive a s40 1997 .but im havin a problem with the engine ,its losing power at times an,theres a light on the dash that keeps coming on .its a circle with a line down the middle of the circle ,with half lines countining round the outside of the circle both sides,its all in red,DOES ANY1 NO WHAT THIS IS .

 

Maybe it is the Lamba sond light?
If so that should be the check engine light and you should have the codes red.

That light might be bacsically the check engine light meaning there is trouble codes stored in the engine computer.

 

how do you find out if the Lambda control is too lean or rich according to trouble codes? Is there a control module or something that controls this>
