Default Replacing 2005 Volvo S80 windscreen washer pump.

Hello, I have just carried out this job. Before doing this remember to check the fuse located beneath the steering wheel area. The fuse was OK so I initially removed the front bumper to get at the pump. This took about an hour to access the pump. Once I did that I found that removing and replacing the pump was simple. While I ordered a new pump (£10 on EBay) I replaced the bumper. On receiving the pump I thought, why don't I try to replace pump without removing bumper.

It is a little tricky but the replacement took less than ten minutes. The pump just pulls away from the bottom of the reservoir. Beware the remaining water will run out of the reservoir. Once this emptied pull off the outlet pipe and disconnect the electrical socket. To replace with new pump, refit electrical socket, reconnect the outlet tube and then push the pump back into the bottom of the reservoir.

Refill reservoir and test. Simple.

Thanks Alan.
I'd rather lose a little washer fluid than remove my bumper anytime.
