Has anyone done this? Does the ECU from the N/A engine match up to the connector in the harness? Does the Transmission controller need to be swapped also?

 

I did some study on this because of a car I have that I don't have an engine for. There is considerable variety in ECU pinouts of similar year volvos. My cars were 850's. If you download the wiring harness of the two cars you are considering you can look that over. volvowiringdiagrams.com I think is the site.

I have seen a few posts here suggesting you can run the NA engine on the old turbo ECU and its wiring, which might make sense. I have not tried that. I have dismantled several cars and I do see the similarities.
