s70 window tinting
hey guys im thinking about buying a precut window tint kit online for my s70. I'd consider myself reasonably skilled do you think my dad and i could do it all ourselves? also, to do the rear windshield do i need to do anything different from the other windows like heat shrink, etc?
thanks and ill upload pics when finished

i did this. did not turn out so well for me. i recommend that if you do it yourself to just clean the windows thoroughly first, follow the directions, make sure you windows dont get rolled down, and most of all, be patient while installing.
Save your money until you can afford to have it professionally done. I've never seen a DIY kit that didn't bubble and discolor. May take you longer to save the money but in the long run you'll be MUCH happier.
I have tinted 3 of my cars and paid to have the last one done. I got it done for $160 in NM. If you get it done it the winter you can get a better price.
As for doing the rear window, I would suggest cutting the tint into 3 strips. I did my 740 GLE, S70 and 850. I always take the side windows out. Clean, clean, razar scrape, then clean some more. There is NO WAY I could do a good job with the windows in. I would suggest leaving it to the pro's if you can afford it.
I used pre-cut tint on the 850 and one or two of the pieces were creased. The back is still not done on that car becuase of the crease. I think I'm going to cut the tint and put it in.
The main reason I tint my cars is to save wear from the sun and reduce head light glare in the side window. I have had 2 cars that did NOT have the rear glass tinted. Head light glare in the side window gives me a headache.
After they are tinted, pull the fuse on the window switch so no one rolls a window down for a few days.
