i need some help here i own a '97 850 all motor. its an automatic but i wanna swap it to a MT. its hard to find an 850 1 but i have found a v70 MT i was wondering if that can mount up in my engine bay with no problem?

It should bolt up perfect.

 

I don't know about the fit of the trans, but I do know you'll have to add a clutch, too! That's not the hard part. I've heard from others doing different cars (i.e. 1960's muscle cars) that adding the clutch pedal and linkage can be a PITA (and I'm not talking about a type of bread, either). You should get and carefully study an expanded drawing of how its done as there's usually more parts than you'd guess, even with a hydraulic clutch.

 

Ok thanks u guys. O, another question when do the swap am i goin 2 have 2 change my center console or can i keep the 1 i have and just put a shift boot??

 

Console stays the same.
