2004 v70 2.4 timing issues?
Hello everyone I am brand new to this forum and a new Volvo owner. I recently bought a 2004 Volvo V70 2.4 non turbo, dual vvt unsprung. Its a nice looking car but I bought it not running from a shop. Someone had taken the head off and they had not put the cam sprockets back on correctly but the motor would rotate without contact. Bought the cam locking tool and got the sprockets lined up correctly but still the motor has low compression and will not start. When I took the timing belt back off I noticed that the cam gear on the crankshaft has about two teeth of slop or play in it. I can grab it with my hand and rotate it back and forth. Should I be able to do this?
