What's crackin Volvo peeps, I'm D Sub and I just got a 1988 240DL. It's ugly as sin! The clearcoat and paint are terrible, but its one sweet ride!

Usually I can be found in the dezert going way too fast in the sand, but I needed an economical car with fuel prices the way they are. I picked up this car for 800 bucks, and it needs some stuff done (perhaps some PAINT!) and some stuff on the interior is shot. Here to get some knowledge from other owners and make some amigos, but be forewarned, I ain't a typical Volvo owner....I'm a CONSERVATIVE!

Planning on shooting some satin black paint on it soon here (it's the popular thing these days, the flat black look) and with some red accents it should look pretty damn cool. Going for the ""What the F***!?!?! BUT....it's kinda cool!!"" response from folks.

Since I see moderators visit these posts, mods, any chance you can implement Tapatalk for smartphones, or does your current mobile version prevent you from using Tapatalk??? I use Tapatalk on several other forums, and it's great. You can take a photo and post it right to the forum, bypassing all the photobucket stuff. How bout it, eh???

Some before and after shots would make me laugh. Are those door pockets long gone? Seeing those busted to pieces makes me laugh too, I don't know why.

 

Ha, a photo of it now is enough to make one cry from laughter. The white fenders (never painted silver to match the rest of the car, LOL) remind me of some of my off road buddies who get flared fiberglass fenders and never paint em. Looks awesome (sarcasm).

And until I can find a better place to put my water bottles, my door pockets will remain intact, thank you very much.

(even though they're cracked in eight places. )

 

When I bought my 240, the owner managed to preserve the original pockets, I was amazed. That's one thing I thought I was guaranteed to have to replace. Nope, just a bunch of other stuff...
