Default hi everyone - v70 optima dvd navigator

Hi, my name is Max. I live in Italy, and have a 2002 v70 common rail turbodiesel optima, with a beautiful gps navigator.

Yesterday, I got an error message saying that the DVD was not readable.

I pushed off the DVD and it was a little "smoky" with thin black dust (I thinf it is normal) I cleaned the DVD but still was unreadable.

I think that if the DVD is dusty, the inside lens could be the same way.

At home I have a CD lens cleaner with a very small and soft brush that passes on the lens to clean it, and I was thinking to use it for the v70 DVD reader

Did someboidy have the same experience ? or should I use a "Specific Volvo Lens Cleaner" ?

thank you

I haven't seen this problem yet but you can use the lens cleaner you have.It will not hurt it.

Ciao.

Thank you for the suggestion (and comfort...): I wouldn't dare to rip off the lens all by myself; now that I have your support, I'll do it, and I will let tou know what happened...

I live in Rome after 6 years; I used to live in Florence... actually two of the most beautiful cities in the planet, and with that v70 is a real pleasure to go all over the country (and beyond). And it is terrible not to be able to look over the next corner anymore, with the navigator that went down.

I hope that the cleaning will go well; this is because trafic and diesel make a black dust that goes around in the car, and the lens certainly will be foggy.

thank you again Max
