New S80 Owner
Hello all, I am a new first time Volvo owner as of this weekend. I just bought a 2000 S80 with 82,000 miles. Car is in great overall shape, silver with beige interior. The only thing the car needs are new struts/shocks. I am going to get Monroe Sensatrac mainly because that's all my local goodyear shop can get me without paying $250 per unit from the dealer. Since buying it, I have changed the oil but haven't done much else yet. I have cleaned it, buffed the paint, etc, butnow want to make it run like new. I know at 71k miles, the timing belt wasreplaced and the service history shows a regular 3-5k service interval. So, what are some of the first thingsI should dofor immediate maintanance? Any quick and effective performance modsyou recommend? I bought a fewparts to freshen it up cosmetically, but waswondering if anyoneknew whereI could get ahold of exterior door pillar decal covers - that surround the windows(chrome, black, anything to cover up the worn out factory decals). Thanks!

Hello bluemotev,
Greetings from Chicagoland.
I thought of replying to you, as there was no reply to your post. I felt when I joined the forum in Sept '96 and there was only one reply.
People on this forum are generally really helpful, and those with "Moderator" tags are extremely skilled & knowledgeable.
As to "refreshing" your Volvo, I would go over the logbook (maintenance record) and make sure that all tune-up items have been taken care of, as well as all fluids, brakes, tyres, etc...
I wish you the best of luck with your S80.
Best regards,
JPN
