new to volvo new to turbo
hey guy i just bought a volvo 740 needless to say im a bit out of my element but it was from a friend and i had previacly driven the car and loved it the specs for it are quoted below hopefully ill be able to find good information and an active community =D
its a 91 white 740t with a b230ft, bought it with 148k in september 2007 and now it has around 220k and it it has the following:
-RSI stage II cam
-a fully rebuilt and balanced 15g with conical flange with brand new impellers
-ported intake manifold
-brown tops
-3" amm
-m46 swapped
-255 fuel pump with inline bypassed
-prosport fuel and boost gauges
-a-pillar gauge pod i believe i bought from ipd
-greddy turbo timer
-old pioneer premiere head unit
-replaced all old, cracked and rotted plastic interior pieces
-replaced most sensors under the hood
-have plenty of extra relays
-two brand new tires on the rear wheels
-tan leather interior with center armrest cup holders
-under carriage has no rust at all, looks like who ever bought this car paid extra for it to be sprayed with more
-exterior is a 6 or a 7 and interior is about the same
-front tie rods and ball joints have been replaced before it sat
-head was milled and valve seats were cut, new water pump and timing belt were installed and thats when i did the cam, i think there is about maybe 10k on it since then
-im not 100% but i believe i did new exhaust manifold studs and nuts but it couldve only the nuts
the bad:
-it has a boost issue, it wont go over 4psi for some reason, it could be a boost leak and it could be the turbo or something else, but it runs and drives and turbo doesnt whine
-there an oil leak from the back of the engine and im suspecting its the valve cover gasket
-two front tires needs to be replaced
-missing front grille
-trunk leaks when it rains, i believe the car was in a rear end accident by previous owner
-center cap holder on one of the wheels broke
-some wire loom in the engine bay is melted due to an oil leak from the turbo feed line leaking into the manifold and causing the hood liner to catch on fire, nothing got damaged, just melted wire loom
-driver seat has a tear in it and passenger isnt in a great shape
-heated seats dont work
-speedo works when it feels like it
-dead battery
-one of the front tires developed a leak from the bead
-only one rust spot under the front passenger door i believe
-headliner was redone but needs to be redone again
-one of the studs on the exhaust manifold is broken
i ran the 1/4 mile when it was automatic with the cam, 15g, 255 fuel pump with stock injectors, exhaust and intercooler and my best run was 14.31
car hasnt been driven for almost a couple of years but i started it here and there whenever i got the chance
i tried to list everything i can remember, i like to be honest and up front about anything and dont wanna cheat anyone
