Cool volvo 740 GLE break problem light on inside.

Hay everyone! I have a briliant 740 Gle, and i want to repair everything, month a month... But now i find a cable hangig right next to the engine, and finaly im figurid out that, that is a part of the break pump/sorry for my english/ i mean which is distribuid the liqyid to the wheels. When i put to his conection, then the break problem red light turned on in my car. My question is, what kind of problem is could be in a 31 years old car? Even i have no idea if the car has a ABS. system. So, someone haveing some opinion, i realy would like to know. Thanks. This is my first chat in this page, im
a Volvo lover...))

The ABS system has three main components - a pump, a valve body with controller and wheel speed sensors. Not sure if your model can report codes but the typical solution would be to go to a recycle yard and find a used ABS pump with the controller attached. Typically these can be found (at least in the US) for under $100. The controller's circuit board itself can also be the cause as they are prone to developing cracks in the solder so you can also try replacing this part first as it doesn't require opening the system and disconnecting the brake lines. As to the speed sensors, you can do an inspection at the wheels - mostly I'd look for grease thrown from a torn axle boot.
