Hi Guys, I am a new member and need help. I have a xc90 v8 and she has always been great no probs until 156k on the clock. At first it seemed to miss a beat when slowing down, now if you slow down to stop or stuck in traffic it is though you running out of petrol, if i put it in park and rev it no probs but as soon as you let it idle she starts missing very badly and almost will not drive for a few seconds then suddenly picks up. Petrol pump replaced as and it only does it once car has driven for a while, no probs on motorway, only traffic or at stop streets. Pls pls help. thanks guys

 

could be an air leak (vacuum line etc) or you may need to clean the throttle body/MAF

 

morning guys, thanks for the reply. drove the car this morning without a issue at all, changed or touched nothing. It seems like it does it when it wants to. The only difference was that it was very cold this morning and last time it did it it was a warm day. I cannot see that makes a difference but what i know about cars you can put on the back of a postage stamp, any ideas , i will check up on how to clean MAF today.

 

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH, ok so on the way home it started doing it again. It ran perfect the whole way to work, peak hour morning traffic, then as i leave work it stutters and starts all over again. if i turn off the car and it starts first time it will run for a minute or 2 then start sputtering or if i try to accelerate or decelerate it starts to splutter, i love this car but getting very very despondent now. How do you clean a MAF?
