Question What is the maximum boost an S80 T6 can handle?

I just bought a 99' S80 T6. 127,000 Miles runs great. I am also a 95' Nissan 300ZX TT owner.

Q1: I am anxious to hear from the avid volvo enthusiasts, what are the first upgrades you would recommend to extract the maximum amount of HP out of this car, giving the highest rate of return?

Q2: What is the maximum Boost The stock engine / transmission will allow given assuming 12:1 A/F ratio?

Thanks in advance!

Sadly you bought the wrong Volvo to modify IMO.

But some things you should look into are these...

- Do a complete overhaul on the engine to make sure it is in tip top shape to begin with.

- Replace your vacuum lines with Silicone versions. Also if you can find them or have someone make them for you have your turbo hoses done in Silicone as well.

- Your also going to want a boost gauge no matter if your just uping the boost slightly or going wild. Autometer makes a very nice selection of gauges. I know of no one who makes a gauge pod for the s80. Your going to have to get creative a custom with that.

- EuroSportTuning (EST) sells a RICA softloader system that will raise your vehicle performance. This will be the best bang for your buck. Expensive, but worth every penny. I'm sure there are others on the market that are cheaper, but you get what you pay for, trust me.

- Turboback exhaust is a good upgrade. However with the T6 model I'mnot sure how easy it will be. Your going to have to look into a custom job and I suggest 2.5" downpipes because I don't think 3" pipes will work for this. Then you can flange it into a 3" catback system through some free flowing straight through design mufflers, such as Maganflow or Borla.

- Not sure what the stock boost is set at, but I wouldn't go past 15-17 PSI on stock turbo and internals.

- As for intake just a nice performance panel filter will do just fine, unless you want to go custom and make your own true CAI.
