I drive a 1998 Volvo S70 T5 and for a couple of years now, I've been paying attention to my petrol mileage. I'm a huge Top Gear (U.K.) fan and I've taken to some of their challenges, particularly those with petrol endurance. I've taken my car for some fairly long drives, and this year I did one to test the maximum range my car could drive without refueling. In the interest of science, I drove the entire way averaging about 62 mph on interstate roads. I was able to go 645 miles on my tank before I actually got to where I wanted to go, upon which I refueled in preparation for the return trip. I estimate I had about a gallon or two left in my tank. I was wondering, how have you all fared with your petrol ranges? Feel free to share your stories!
