I sold the V70 last week. I bought a GMC Envoy to replace it and tow my boat. Haven't done anything except put new Michelin tires on the white one. Rides much better than it did with the Kumho's, worth the extra $100.

The Envoy's finish felt like sandpaper. I tried polishing compound and it did next to nothing. Tried rubbing compound and worked by butt off doing the hood and it came out OK. The guy who bought the V70 said that a clay bar would be a lot easier and do a better job so I bought one and did the entire vehicle. I was amazed at how good a job it did. Not exactly easy, but not near as much work as rubbing compound and does do a better job. Now I have to put a coat of wax on it if it's not at the lake with a trailer on the back while I'm out in my boat.

finally pulled those window/roof trim piece things that are notorious for flaking off and cleaned, sanded, and painted them. Now the rubber on either side looks terrible next to the fresh paint on the trim. I have some Mothers b.t.b. on the way to clean it up

The paint in the center console is peeling in the S70 (several spots) so I mixed some model paint to touch it up. The paint that I mixed does not have the methalic finish so it is not a great match.

Anyone have a better solution?

I bought a magnetic motor oil drain plug (and washer) from FCPGroton.com.

I also bought a new dipstick (and O ring) just for fun!

Got my new dipstick in the mail today. It was 1/2" too long. Great. Guess I can't use that.

Tried to drain my battery. Got home at 7:10 pm with my parking lights on. Went to bed & sleep at 10:30 with them still on. My neighbor tired to wake me at 11:15 to no avail. The town police started knocking, ringing the door bell and got my wife to get me up at 12:45 am to turn them off. Battery was still able to start the car at 5:30 so I was fine.

Cleared my code 440 by connecting the small vacuum line from the PCV system near the turbo. It was part of the kit from FCP and I had to use a squez clamp on it.

Didnt do this today but it was this week.

I did a Amsoil Power foam intake cleaner and degreaser. it worked awesome. i could tell a difference in the idle of the car and it made it run smoother.

I also used the amsoil P.I. Fuel injection cleaner when i filled up.

I noticed about a 2-3 mpg increase by doing these 2 things.

I also Did a oil change with engine flush
Amsoil engine flush, amsoil European 5w40 synthetic oil, amsoil EAO filter.

Then last but not least I installed a APEXI turbo timer. no more sitting in my car. i will get some pictures of the final install this weekend some time

Next week is a Trans Flush using amsoil synthetic ATF.
