Finally got my antenna mast replace after waiting two and a half yrs on one of my "to do" list. I tell ya, it was hell to get it out. The metal pipe stopper for the antenna was corroded stuck to the brass inner tubing for the antenna mast. So much for the instructions volvospeed and the one that came with. Everytime I tried to yank it out, the whole car moved up. Ended up taking the whole assembly out with the thing brokened at the most extended position! Had to bend the antenna a bit to get it out of the hole. After that was done, had my dad help me pull it out. I hold one end, he hold the other. It was like tug of war and it still didn't come out! Had to push and pull a couple hard times and eventually it came out. After that, I ended up cleaning the housing where all the gears are. Man it was dirty. Found the broken piece while taking it apart. I was about 4-5 inches long. Tomorrow I will put everything back together and hope it all goes will, b/c this whole message I just discribed took 6 fustrating hours!

Wow! Sounds like you're still not done. May have been easier and cheaper to go get a whole different assembly from a salvage yard.

Anyways, I looked at it a couple days ago. That's about it. Too busy with end of semester projects and studying to finish cleaning the motor. Makes me sad. On another note, I posted some pics of my wagon and the progress on IPD's facebook site, and they said when it's all done they would like to do a feature on the car. That made me pretty excited, a little more motivated as well.

Took the 850 in for an Oil change and had tech look at her. Has a rough idle at times, sometimes it idles perfectly! Possible culprit, IAC motor.... It was cleaned and put back in. Rought Idle still there but not as bad... Hopefully will change it to see if mine is the suspect....
