1980 242 hood latch jam
Mechanic misaligned the hood in engine rebuild. I loosened the hinges one half turn on one bolt at a time, and the hood tension released. It came down and went up smoothly, however when I pressed it down to secure it, it now fails to open. The inside release is working because I can hear disengage, however the hood will not raise up to allow access to the handle release.
Experienced ideas for releasing the hood latch appreciated.

Thanks for the input.
I discovered the latch can be reached from underneath. It has a lip that can be pushed to the driver's side, which unlatches the hood lock.
The rear of the hood is too high, the sides align well, so other than replacing the hinges, any input about bringing the back down would be appreciated. The side to side is okay.
And Lev, it's a love affair, I am the original owner, and it was retired as a daily driver three years ago with complete paint restoration down to the metal (no filler), plus the engine was bored out with new pistons, rings, etc. with complete wiring replacement.
I found a fellow in Australia who specializes in Bosch K-Jet, and he sent a complete rebuild for the fuel distributor, etc., when he saw the core we sent was workable. Rebuilding the engine has been a global affair, mainland USA plus Europe. The mechanics here did a great job, so I don't slight them for their lack of body and fender knowledge.
Anyone looking for info about where to get parts for this series, let me know here.
Also, any info on how to post a picture or two here would be appreciated.
