Hey everyone, so I’ve seen a couple threads on alternators on here, but I’m just not sure. I’ve got a 1980, 245 and the alternator was just determined to be bad, not surprising as when I bought the car, the previous owner had it wired wrong, like I’ve seen on so many others. Anyway, it’s finally going bad, and I’m not sure which alternator I should settle on, amp wise. One person said either the 50, 70 or 80 amp alternators will work, but why is there such a difference? I’m definitely going to try and find a Bosch, but should I go for 70 or 80 amps?
Are there many options just for different amounts of power usage per car?
i used the Bosch of Rock Auto. You will notice a difference in your headlights and power windows 👍
