1984 Volvo 240 DL Transmission ID
I need to top off my transmission fluid but my manual is packed away because of a move. I checked the online manual and it lists the following fluids are used:
BW55 Automatic Transmission Fluid type G(FLM)
AW71 Automatic Transmission Fluid type Dexron II D
How do I know whether I have a BW55 or AW71 transmission? Thanks!

The BW is 3 speed, the AW is 3 +OD, with an Overdrive button. If you post a picture it'll help. But if you don't have the OD, it's a BW. Most likely you have the AW; I believe the BW was not used as late as 1984.

Thanks for the reply! I could post a picture, but I definitely have Overdrive so it looks as if I have the AW. That was a great help.
