1987 240 turning issues
Hey everyone! I have a 1987 volvo 240, that sat for about a year while I was away at school. It did get started periodicaly but not driven. It starts up fine and runs fine it seems, but the steering doesn't work now. WHen I turn the wheel, it's very difficult to turn, almost as if I'm forcing it. The powersteering fuild is checked and I never had a problem before hand. I've looked into it and people say it could be the ball joint assembly. Was wondering what others might have to say? I also don't exactly know what I'm looking at under there for wear and tear, but I have the haynes book. I just don't want to replace something like the powersteering pump if that isn't it.
Also have an issue lighting up the dashboard if anyone knows an issue about that. The dashboard doesn't light up, but the lights on it work because I've taken it out to check. It's a wire or fuse somewhere that I can not find. Any ideas?
