I had to replace the solenoid in my 245 again today. Thank god I ordered 2 last time so I would have a spare since the last couple have only lasted a year or so (14 months this time) I am getting pretty good at it though! took less than 40 minutes this time..

14 months !? that's terrible service life considering the first one may have lasted over 20 years... where did they come from?

the last three I have bought were sold as 2 different brands but I suspect they were all made at the same factory even though 2 of them were coded blue on the wire and one was red. the flexible shielding on the wires all cracked at the same place near the solenoid when I was removing them from the package. a bit of heat shrink tubing took care of the problem, but doesn't speak well for the quality of materials used to make them. Both sellers claimed they were manufactured by the OEM supplier. one said "made in Hungary" on the package.

MTC and Vollig were the names on the packaging but I suspect they are just the distributors.
