Hello, Just found out my 1990 volvo 740 transmission is shot. It is automatic and non-turbo. What years 740 and or 240's will be a direct fit w/ no modifications? Local savage yard has a few choices for 100. each. Also will the interior seats from a 1991 240 sedan fit into the 1990 740? My tan leather is shot. The 240 has blue cloth but it is mint. Yard sad 80 for all seats. Any help would be great. Thanks, Bill

 

Not sure about the seats, but try and find an AW71 trany. it is out of the turbo model and it is supposed to be stronger. But I believe most of the RWD trans are swappable.

 

Seats won't fit.
Trannys are all the same turbo to non turbo, 240, 740, 940. AW71 are used in all. It replaced the earlier Borg Warner units used in mid-eighties models.
