Default 1994 940 My drivers door will not lock.........

Hello everyone, I just purchased a 1994 940 Turbo wagon, beautiful car! But I noticed when I went to lock it that with the key it will not lock, I even tried to push it down and it was like trying to make a dog sit that doesn't want to...lol. All the other locks lock except the drivers door. Can someone please help, thanks in advance, Nelson.

Best thing to do would be to get in and inspect everything for the latch.

Sounds like an actuator . I had one where the old aftermarket alarm guys put a second actuator in the drivers door then hooked it up mechanically to the original linkage. Then their remotes would unlock the car.

You need a NEW key. The one you are using is worn out.

Guess it's better than being locked OUT. BTW I'm in the process of looking for a clean '95 940, mind if I ask the particulars of your purchase?

You could be right, but I have two keys and they both work fine on every other lock except the drivers door.

If they both work the same then it's not the key unless they are equally worn which would be hard to imagine. I had a Volvo 940 that was doing just that, and it was the key which seems to be of softer metal and seem to wear down faster and not work.

SRY about your door lock issue but other than that I'm curious, what's the condition, miles, price, options, color, where did you find it and are there any more?

It has 189,000 miles, and I paid $1000, she's pretty loaded and other than the lock overall it is in pretty good shape with lots of replaced parts. I picked it up locally in Connecticut.

Check the link below for picture.

Thanks to everyone that responded, the person that purchased my 850 told me to put some WD40 on it and that should do the trick, and he was right, the lock is now working perfectly, Nelson.
