Question 1:
how do I get the darn!!!! oil light out there is no switch on the back of the insturment cluster. SOLVED

how would I go about putting a safety nutral switch in my car it is a "1986 740 gle"

I don't know about the nuetral safety switch, but the oil light indicates abnormally low oil pressure. Do not drive the car if the oil light is on. Check your oil level, if it is normal you either have a problem with your oil pump or a faulty oil pressure sender.

 

it could be the oil presure sender wireing because all the wires out inunder the hood of my car were rotted away so I repleaced all the wires and most of the plug ends and taped it all back up and put shrink tube on it. so i will check that first.

I thought it was juest one of them lights that come on every so many miles.

 

There is a service interval light that comes on every 5000 miles or so, but it says SERVICE. Just be careful because that oil press. light is no joke.

 

found the problem i never checked any wires that were not in the main harnes and that wire was broke off and grounded out on the block...lol
