244DL Starting problem
I am trying to fix my GFs 1982 244DL, I beliebe it's a b23a engine. I don't really have much experience working with carburated cars. Car failed to start... got it to start again... started chugging... then failed to start anymore.
Here is what I have done. I have relaced the starter (it had failed earlier), also replace the distrubutor cap and ign rotor. Then whne it stop running again I replaced the fuel filter on the idea of a fuel delivery problem. I noticed before it completely failed the second pump was running really loud. As I read this is and indication that the in tank fuel pump has failed. Since I replaced the fuel filter there feels like there is lots of pressure in the line between the carb. In the air intake there is excess fuel. So I would assume the carb is getting fuel to it. Oh, and I check the spark and it's fine.
So, what should be my next step?
