4 questions about a 1995 volvo 940 turbo
I have a 1995 Volvo 940 turbo with 160,000 miles and i need some help.
Question #1 - I have been losing coolant recently in the collant reservoir and i have finally found the culprit. The coolant is seeping at the bottom of the reservoir at the small hose that connects to this. Is this an easy fix ? If so how do i fix it ?
Question #2 - I recently added more oil to my car because it was low. It isnt ready for another oil change for another 1.500 miles. Is this abnormal to be adding oil with this much of an interval until the next oil change ?
Question#3 - Some days i have a rough idle and some days i do not, it depends. i have replaced the spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, pcv flame trap, the air filter is clean. Recently had the throttle body cleaned out and it has all new belts. Could it be the plug wires?
Question #4 - I know this sounds dumb but does this car run on premium or regular gasoline and does either make a big difference in performance and overall well being of the engine?
Tnaks for your help guys !!!

Question #1 - I have been losing coolant recently in the collant reservoir and i have finally found the culprit. The coolant is seeping at the bottom of the reservoir at the small hose that connects to this. Is this an easy fix ? If so how do i fix it ?
Answer - it should be aneasy fix. Ifit is just the hose, look at the part number, get a new hose, and put it on.You will have to change the coolant to do this, unless you can carefully unclamp the hose with buckets to catch the coolant, but it can get messy.
Question #2 - I recently added more oil to my car because it was low. It isnt ready for another oil change for another 1.500 miles. Is this abnormal to be adding oil with this much of an interval until the next oil change ?
Answer- I have a 91 745t and I have to add oil between oil changes also. I think the B230FT motors burnoil.

Answer - not sure about this. Maybe tech or S70driver could tell you.I did a valve adjustment on my car 2000miles agoandit idles like a brand new car.
Question #4 - I know this sounds dumb but does this car run on premium or regular gasoline and does either make a big difference in performance and overall well being of the engine?
Answer - You have a turbo, so it is recommended that you run premium.

RE: 4 questions about a 1995 volvo 940 turbo
You cannot tell if the air filter is clean just by looking at it. I had troubles with my 740 turbo (black smoke, trouble going up hills, etc.). Cleared up when I replaced the air filter. One of the simplest fixes I've come up with.
I've been running regular gasoline in my 740 turbo since I bought it used many years ago. I never read the manual closely enough, I confess, to realize that I should have used premium. But, it doesn't knock on regular! You can try filling up with regular one time and then premium the next, seeing if your car knocks on regular.

Two quarts between oil changes means a middling oil leak somewhere. Check oil pan gasket, head gasket, and valve cover gasket. Also, plugged PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) can blow oil out of the oil cap (and maybe even out of the oil dipstick hole).
