Default 740 Radio amp Done?? I Need help.

Ok here is the deal. I own a 86' and a 91' 740. The 1986 740 GLE has that cool graphic equalizer in it and i thought it wold be cool to try and hook that up to my stock 1991 740's radio since the back of the radio had the input for it. Well i did plug it in and got a little static and then nothing. I said forget it and unplugged the graphic EQ and now my radio in my 91' 740 does not work! It goes on and powers up but i get no sound from the speakers, i only get sound when i have the volume **** way up. I do not know what is wrong. I do have the factory amp in this car and i unplugged it when i was taking out the radio and plugged it back in. I suspect i may have fried the amp? I checked my fuses in the fuse box and none were blown out. What do you guys think? Is there some kind of way to just reset the radio and maybe that will fix it?

So what i have is this:

radio powers up but no sound unless the volume **** is to its max level, and even then the volume is not that audible.

Default RE: 740 Radio amp Done?? I Need help.

After having a night to sleep on it, i may just go the www.crutchfield.com way and get a nice new head unit with all the wires to bypass that amp. But i am still curious as to what happened and would still like your opinions and maybe fixes. Thanks.
