Default 740 running issues

So my 740 has been running pretty perfect up until now, not sure what it is thinking that it may be one of the fuel pumps. What’s happening is that I’ll turn the car on and it’ll run just fine but after a few minutes it’ll start putting when I press the gas, I’m able to keep it running by letting off the gas and pressing it again but then it starts putting so I just have to keep letting of the gas and pressing it again until finally it just dies. Any ideas

Off the top, MAFS, but run the codes as it could be other things. What year? Mass Air Flow Sensor if it started suddenly...

read this page to see how the code reader works. assuming its a 1989 or newer (1990 or newer turbo)

https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/EngineOBDCodes.html

you need no tools, the reader is under the hood.
