I am looking for instructions (preferred graphics) as how to remove a manuly operated sunroof, to replace the fabric underneth.
Anybody has done it before, or can direct me to a website would be much appreciated.

Have 2 740's. Both had sunroof cloth problems. I brought the first car to the shop that performs the work for the local volvo, mercedes etc. dealers. He replaced the cloth; no problem. The second car was worked on for over a week and the guy was not able to loosen the bolts/screws and refused to continue with the car. He informed me that many of the roof parts are difficult to obtain (I have 1990 and 1987 models) and that if he broke the wrong parts the repair parts and subsequent work would cost far more than the cloth repair in general. Too make a long story short, yes, I know it is too late, be careful. He may have been joshing me; however, I think he was trying to be as honest as he could. He was paid nothing for the second car; no repair no pay.
